Out and about in Dublin

This morning I waved goodbye to David has he set off to work at the very respectable time of 9:30. It is a 4 km trip to DCU but as we are in Dublin it takes you 10km to get there by bus as all the buses go firstly into the city and then back out. He is now considering getting a bike as this is the preferred mode of transport for all good professors. Whilst David was at work I got my bearings and spent 2 hours walking around Clontarf. David returned from work about 3:00pm and we took off to the city to have a wander. We came across some street musicians who were fantastic, has a quick look at Trinity university and strolled along the shops. We are collecting quite a list of things we want to do so it is just as well we have 3 months to get them all done. Time to go as it is now happy hour! Until next time Anne.

Arrival in Dublin

After many flying hours we finally have arrived. The plane was extremely full with no spare seats to be found. The first leg meant a stop to refuel in Singapore and then on to London. As David is a seasoned flyer he decided it was time to sleep on this leg and promptly went to sleep and was snoring within minutes. I was not as lucky and as I am writing this am feeling my eyelids staring to droop. We have already been to meet up with Dermot at the university and to do some shopping for some basic food necessities. We plan to go to a pub this evening for dinner and then I will be catching up on some lost sleep. Until next time, Anne
